Invasion of the Big D's: Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton Will Look for Serious Cash
Some of the biggest names in the Democratic Party are heading to the Sunshine State this week to hit up Florida donors for cash.
President Barack Obama will be headed to Miami Wednesday to fundraise for the Democratic National Committee at real estate giant Stephen Bittels home. Bittel was a major fundraiser for Obama in 2012, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the president during his re-election campaign.
Bittel's bash is a high-roller-only affair. Cost per plate to dine with the president: $10,000.
Randy Fine Not a Bad Longshot Bet for Senate Race
Politico reported last week that Randy Fine was looking at getting out of a state House race and into the open Republican primary to replace Marco Rubio in the Senate.
At first glance, it makes little sense for Fine to get into the Senate race. Religious and social conservatives will balk on supporting Fine who has worked in gaming for much of his professional life. The business community in Florida remains divided on whether gambling should be expanded and wont be thrilled to see Fine put that issue back in the spotlight.
