With Democrats ready to hold their national convention in Philadelphia next week, presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton turned to Tim Kaine to be her running mate. 

While Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz will play a major role at the convention in her role as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), attention will also be on Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum who will be speaking in Philadelphia.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz failed to endorse Donald Trump during his speech at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night.

One thing’s pretty clear at the Republican convention in Cleveland: Tom Cotton is waiting in the wings for the future and Florida is on his mind.

This has led to buzz that Cotton intends to run for president in the near future. 

Former presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson is looking to stay politically active in Florida, the state he moved to after retiring from his celebrated medical career. 

Carson spoke to the Florida delegation at a breakfast event on Tuesday at the Republican convention in Cleveland. The event was hosted by state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam who is expected to run for governor in 2018. 

Melania Trump’s highly anticipated speech at the Republican National Convention Monday night appears to have included a nearly identical paragraph from Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump’s wife was describing how her parents instilled in her values about working hard and treating people with respect.

It included phrases and even precise words that were identical to the first lady's 2008 address.

Calling out the federal Department of Veterans Affairs and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for not dismissing underperforming employees, Florida Republican Ted Yoho brought out the “Federal Employee Accountability Act (FEAA)” on Friday.
