When the Republicans convene in Tampa later this month, a conservative group will unveil a new film featuring former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., about the American Revolution and the establishment of the U.S. Constitution.

Citizens United, best known for their successful challenge to the federal campaign laws, will launch Our Sacred Honor on Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Citizens United Theater at Liberty Plaza in Tampa. The group is looking to distribute the movie via DVD.

Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania intends to rally conservatives for the man who defeated him for the Republican presidential nomination -- former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts -- when the GOP holds its convention in Tampa later this month.

On Wednesday, a day after it was announced that Santorum would address the convention, the former presidential candidate said that Patriot Voices, an organization that he chairs, will hold an event for Romney in Tampa on Wednesday, Aug. 29.

With a week to go until the primary, the fight between congressional colleagues U.S. Rep. John Mica and U.S. Rep. Sandy Adams continues to intensify -- and Florida Republicans are taking sides.

On Tuesday, Adams unveiled the support of two fellow congressional freshmen from the Sunshine State --U.S. Rep. Rich Nugent and U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross. After serving eight years in the Florida House of Representatives in Tallahassee, Adams won a congressional seat in 2010. Mica was first elected to the U.S. House in 1992.

Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), unveiled on Tuesday the second round of speakers who will address the GOP convention in Tampa later this month -- a lineup that now includes former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Priebus announced that besides Bush, Gov. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania will speak to the convention.

As he seeks a second term in the Florida House, Rep. Jimmie Smith, R-Lecanto, gets to wait while two Democrats battle in the primary to see who will take him on. But Nancy Argenziano, who served in both chambers of the Legislature and on the Public Service Commission, is also waitingfor the results as she looks to return to Tallahassee as the candidate of the Independent Party of Florida.

As she seeks to win a fourth full term in the Florida House of Representatives, Rep. Marti Coley, R-Marianna, is a heavy favorite to head back to Tallahassee despite opposition in the Republican primary in HD 5 on Aug. 14.

First elected to the House in a special election in 2005, Coley currently represents all of Calhoun and Liberty counties and parts of Bay, Gadsden, Jackson, Leon, Okaloosa, Wakulla and Walton counties. After the redistricting process, Coley is running to represent all of Holmes, Jackson, Walton and Washington counties and parts of Bay County.

Rep. Clay Ford, R-Pensacola, faces a challenger in the Republican HD 2 primary on Aug. 14 as he seeks another term in the Florida House of Representatives representing parts of the Panhandle.

Ford currently represents parts of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties and, while the Legislature tackled redistricting earlier in the year, his new district covers parts of the same two counties.

Conservatives heading to Tampa later this month for the Republican National Convention will be able to kick off the week of festivities with an event being held by members of the tea party movement.

Unity Rally 2012 will be held at the River Church in Tampa on Sunday, Aug. 26, the day before the GOP convention kicks off. The event will be streamed online.

Public Policy Polling (PPP), a firm with connections to prominent national Democrats, released a poll on Wednesday showing that Democrat incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson can expect a fight in Florida from likely Republican challenger U.S. Rep. Connie Mack.

The poll of likely Florida voters shows Nelson taking 45 percent while Mack is right behind him within the margin of error at 43 percent. A poll of likely Florida voters taken by Quinnipac University released earlier in the day showed Nelson taking 47 percent with Mack following with 40 percent.

Quinnipiac University, CBS News and the New York Times released polls of three key states -- Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania -- on Wednesday. And in all of those electoral battlegrounds, President Barack Obama is taking 50 percent or more over former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, the presumptive Republican candidate.
