Jeb Bush Hears Marco Rubio's Footsteps in 2016 Florida Poll

As former Gov. Jeb Bush readies to launch his bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Monday, a new poll shows he is facing major competition from another favorite son of the Sunshine State. 

St. Leo University released a poll on Wednesday which shows Bush still leads in the Florida primary but U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is closing the gap. 

Ted Yoho's Amendment to Ensure Illegal Immigrants Don't Get Federal Housing Assistance Passes House

U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., successfully amended U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart’s, R-Fla., Transportation House and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations bill Tuesday to ensure illegal immigrants would not receive taxpayer funds for housing assistance. 

Yoho’s amendment passed 244-181 with four Democrats breaking ranks to vote for it and three Republicans voting against it. Party lines held firm in Florida with all Republicans, including Diaz-Balart, voting for the amendment and Democrats united against it.

On Monday night, Bluewater released “Female Force: Hillary Clinton: The Road to the White House” which looks at the favorite for the Democratic nomination. 

Democratic Leadership Backs Annette Taddeo Against Carlos Curbelo

The Democratic leadership at the national and state levels have made their choice in South Florida, rallying behind Annette Taddeo, the former chairwoman of the Miami-Dade Democrats, to run against U.S. Rep. Carlos Curbelo, R-Fla., in 2016. 

Though Taddeo has failed in her past attempts to win political office and had to move to the district, Democrats are increasingly backing her campaign.
