CNN: George Zimmerman Will Be Charged in Trayvon Martin's Death

CNN is reporting that George Zimmerman, who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, will be charged in the teen's death.

A special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin shooting case is expected to announce a decision within the next four hours regarding whether she will file charges against George Zimmerman, the network reported.

The report did not state what charges Zimmerman would face.

Zimmerman has claimed he acted in self-defense under the state's Stand Your Ground law.

AIF: 2012 Legislature Most Business Friendly since 2008

Associated Industries of Florida has graded the Republican-dominated 2012 Legislature as the most friendly to business since 2008.

The business lobbying organization gave the GOP members an average score of 89 in the House and 85 in the Senate, based on more than 13,200 votes cast on 114 business-related bills.

Political Newcomers Reeling In Big Campaign Donations

Led by a Jefferson County Republican who reeled in more than $108,000, newcomers posted some of the top fundraising totals in legislative races during the first three months of 2012.

Monticello businessman Halsey Beshears reported raising $108,268, as he tries to win a largely rural House district that includes all or parts of 10 North Florida counties, according to records posted Tuesday on the state Division of Elections website.

Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum has suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination for U.S. president.

At a news conference in Gettysburg, Pa., on Tuesday, the unapologetic social and fiscal conservative said he was able to build as strong a campaign as he did by interpreting the voice of the people.

"We were touching hearts, we were raising issues, Santorum said.

Santorum said the decision was made over the weekend.

Corrine Brown, Cliff Sterns Top Florida's Congressional Delegation in Office Spending

U.S. Reps. Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, and Cliff Sterns, R-Ocala, earned high As, based upon use of their office budget money.

The two came closest among Floridas House delegation to reaching the maximum allocated -- approximately $1.4 million per office holder -- for their House office budgets in 2011, according to a reported by USA Today.

Brown spent 99.4 percent of the $1.43 million allocated to her office, with the largest expense payroll, at $1.03 million.

Sterns office spending stood at 96.5 percent. Payroll comprised $880,160.

Rick Scott Signs Hospital, Pharmacy Vaccination Bills

Resolving two long-running debates, Gov. Rick Scott has signed bills that will give more vaccination powers to pharmacists and increase oversight of the sales or leases of public hospitals.

The pharmacy and hospital bills were two of several health-related measures that Scott signed heading into the holiday weekend. Others included a bill that would allow the use of what is known as a "medical loss ratio" for managed-care plans in the Medicaid program.
