WASHINGTON -- The spectacles we persist in dignifying as presidential "debates" -- two-minute regurgitations of rehearsed responses -- often subtract from the nation's understanding.
The presidential debate season is upon us with President Obama and his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, scheduled to square off Wednesday night in the political class version of a cage match.
In November, millions of Florida voters may very well decide the next president of the United States. Amid the excitement of the race for the White House, some of the deeply impactful (and in some cases, deeply troubling) amendments to Floridas Constitution --which will also appear on Novembers ballot -- may be overlooked.
WASHINGTON -- In mid-September 2008, Lehman Brothers collapsed and the bottom fell out of the financial system.
In 2008, voters under 30 preferred Barack Obama over John McCain by a 66 percent to 32 percent margin. Among older voters, Obama led McCain by 50 percent to 49 percent.
When Floridians head to the polls in November, they should vote yes on Amendment 4, giving homeowners and small businesses across the Sunshine State a chance to rein in property tax hikes.
