Carl Domino Pegs Patrick Murphy as 'Part of the Problem'

Former state Rep. Carl Domino is running for the Republican nomination to challenge freshman U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, R-Fla., in 2014. Domino came out swinging against Murphy, hammering the Democrat as part of the problems plaguing the Beltway.

Washington is broken and Patrick Murphy is part of the problem, Domino insisted on Thursday. We need new leadership in Washington before it's too late. That's why I'm challenging Murphy.

Too many members of Congress on both sides of the aisle are more interested in making headlines rather than moving our country forward. They are willing to put our nation's economy in jeopardy simply to advance their radical agenda, Domino added. At such a critical time in our nation, we simply cannot afford such reckless behavior and mismanagement of America's money.

Trying to catch Murphy in the money chase, Domino is hoping to reel in 500 new donors by the end of the month. As he continues his bid, Domino is trying to stress his right-of-center credentials, insisting he is the conservative for Congress.
