You probably can't imagine how much fun I've had at Sunshine State News over the last 10 years. I don't think anybody could.

Back in May, I wrote a column laying out possible scenarios for the 2012 campaign different from the conventional wisdom that it would be a long, hard slog through a fixed list of target states like the race in 2004.
Florida Consumer Action Network opposes all this year's constitutional amendments, including 11, the Florida Senior Homestead Tax Exemption. Why? Why not give tax cuts to low-income seniors?
In the final debate, liberal CBS anchorman Bob Schieffer did it right. He moderated without asserting his own political opinions. Indeed, if this was all you had as a compass, you'd never know where he leaned. It was a welcome change from the Raddatz and Crowley libfests.
When the news from Washington contains words such as million, billion and trillion, its all too easy for our eyes to glaze over. Numbers that big arent easy to grasp.

How will this election be seen in history? Obviously, it depends on who wins.
Despite its name, Amendment 10, titled Tangible Personal Property Tax Exemption, refers to a tax that businesses pay. It applies to any equipment used to earn income, like furniture, fixtures, machinery, tools, shelving and signs.

With Christmas a little over a week away, it's crunch time to finish holiday shopping. But according to a new poll, nearly a third of Americans are already finished.
The Rasmussen Reports poll found 67 percent of American adults have already started their holiday gift shopping, a number that's up from 48 percentat the beginning of the month.Thirty percent said they still haven't started shopping.

Gov. Rick Scott made the announcement Monday that 14 more school districts approved pay raises for teachers.
Scott worked with the Legislature to pledge $480 million during the 2013 legislative session to "reward teachers and thank them for their nationally-recognized efforts to raise student achievement," according to a press release from the governor's office.

The Committee to Draft Judge Andrew Napolitano for President continues to showcase its candidate, urging him to enter the Republican presidential primaries in 2016. Larry Hunter from the committee sent out an email to supporters over the weekend, praising Napolitano and insisting he matches up well against former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the favorite for the Democratic nomination.

The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) continues to pound former Gov. Charlie Crist -- the favorite for the Democratic nomination to challenge Gov. Rick Scott despite spending most of his political career as a Republican -- for support of President Barack Obamas health-care law. On Monday, Lenny Curry, the chairman of the RPOF, hit Crist on the issue and the RPOF released a Web video attacking the former governor. The video features Crist supporting Obamacare.

Former Gov. Charlie Crist wanted to take some time on Friday to thank Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., for enrolling himself in Obamacare. Crist also believes Rubio's enrollment should cause Gov. Rick Scott and "other tea party groups" to lay off of their criticism of the health care law.

Over the last few weeks, the Republican Party of Florida has been hitting Democrats hard over Barack Obama's troubled health care law. On Friday, RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry slammed Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for her trip to Miami for what the Miami Herald referred to as "the ongoing health care law fallout tour."

Former governor Charlie Crist, who's running to get his old job back, is apparently in support of the legalization of medical marijuana.
According to a tweet posted from Lauren Mayk, a reporter with WFLA news in the Tampa Bay area, Crist told her Thursday that he would support an amendment legalizing medical marijuana.

St. Leo University is now running polls and its first look at the 2014 Florida gubernatorial race shows former Gov. Charlie Crist, the favorite for the Democratic nomination, with a solid lead over Gov. Rick Scott. Crist beats out Scott 46 percent to 34 percent. Most other recent polls show Crist with a smaller lead. The poll used online sampling which remains very controversial with polling experts.
