CORRECTED TO ADD MORE FLORIDA UNIVERSITIES: The state university system in Florida has long insisted that its tuition schedules are among the best value for a student's higher education dollar in the country, justifying further increases. On Tuesday, a venerable annual survey backed up that claim.

An organization of foreign investors announced in a survey released Sunday that the United States will remain the top choice of most global commercial real estate investors in 2012, even though it's lost ground to No. 2 Brazil.

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on Friday issued the following Call to the 2012 Republican National Convention:

Gov. Rick Scott announced Thursday four staff changes within his administration, all of which become effective in January.

Bonnie Hazleton has been appointed director of the Office of Open Government, Tom Doughty will join the executive office of the governor as director of information technology, and Mike Dew and Julie Roberts have been promoted within the governors office of external affairs.

On the eve of the 2012 election year, the Republican Party of Florida has made changes among its communications staff, promoting Kristen McDonald and adding Dan Dawson.

RPOF Chairman Lenny Curry has announced that the University of North Florida in Jacksonville will serve as the venue for the Jan. 26 Republican Presidential Debate.

The debate is co-sponsored by RPOF and Hispanic Leadership Network and will air internationally on CNN.

"This is a great event for Jacksonville and for UNF," Curry said. "This venue will highlight how important Jacksonville and the First Coast region are to Florida and the nation by hosting a debate that includes our next president."

Gov. Rick Scott released the following statement Sunday night clarifying his position on the investigation into the alleged hazing death of a Florida A&M University student:

I am disappointed in the direction the dialog regarding the hazing-murder of a Florida A&M University student has taken. I know many people who care about the great institution share with me the concerns I have with making sure the current investigations proceed independently and without any appearance of interference so responsible parties may be brought to justice.
