Bill McCollum Cheers Judge Allowing Obamacare Lawsuit to Continue

Attorney General Bill McCollum cheered the decision by U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson that the suit McCollum launched against the federal government for President Barack Obama's new health-care laws can proceed.

This ruling is a victory for the states, small businesses and the American people, said McCollum. It is the first step to having the individual mandate declared unconstitutional and upholding state sovereignty in our federal system, and means this case will go forward to the summary judgment hearing that the court has set for Dec. 16.

Adam Hasner Takes Aim at Alex Sink Over Felons Selling Insurance

Joined by State Attorney Angela Corey, Jacksonville City Councilman Richard Clarke and Rep. Mike Weinstein, R-Orange Park, House Majority Leader Adam Hasner, R-Delray Beach, took aim at state CFO Alex Sink, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, for allowing 11 felons to sell insurance in Florida.

New Poll has Bill Nelson Beating Connie Mack and Rush Limbaugh in 2012

Its a bit early for this, but Public Policy Polling (PPP) --a firm with connections to Democrats --looked at the potential 2012 U.S. Senate contests.

The poll found Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson ahead of potential Republican candidates U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, whose father held the Senate seat from 1989 until 2001, and talk-show host Rush Limbaugh. Nelson took 50 percent while Limbaugh took 36 percent. Mack came closer to beating Nelson in the poll, taking 33 percent to Nelsons 45 percent.

Mike Haridopolos Calls for Linda South to Resign at DMS

Incoming Senate President Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, chimed in on the Tallahassee Taj Mahal -- the courthouse being erected on the outskirts of Tallahassee which cost almost $50 million. Haridopolos demanded Secretary Linda South resign her post at the Department of Management Services over the finding of an audit released by state CFO Alex Sink earlier in the week.

Roy Moore 2012? Defender of Ten Commandments Headed to Iowa

Judge Roy Moore --who previously served as the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court before being removed due to his refusal to follow a federal judges order to take away a monument of the Ten Commandments from a state courthouse -- is headed to Iowa, the site of the first presidential caucus.

While Moores name has generated buzz about a possible presidential bid before, he is going to Iowa to help opponents of three members of that states Supreme Court who backed giving marriage rights to same-sex couples.

Gary Bauer Runs TV Ad for Marco Rubio

Ahead by double digits in the polls, former House Speaker Marco Rubio, the Republican candidate in the U.S. Senate race, is about to get some help from a prominent Washington conservative -- Gary Bauer, best known for his bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2000 and for leading the Family Research Council during the 1990s.

Bauer, who has led the Campaign for Working Families PAC since 1996 and currently serves as its chairman, announced on Thursday that he was running ads targeting 10 key races across the country. The ads will cost the PAC more than $1 million.

Florida Law Firm Pulls Fannie and Freddie into New Foreclosure Mess

According to a Wall Street Journal report, mortgage firms Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are looking into work done by the David J. Stern law firm on their behalf. The firm is currently being investigated by Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum for creating false documents or forging data in order to hastily process foreclosure paperwork.
