Rasmussen Reports released a poll of likely Republican presidential primary voters in Florida on Wednesday. Despite allegations of sexual harassment, businessman Herman Cain continues to lead in the Sunshine State with 30 percent. Former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts stands in second with 24 percent. Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich comes in third place with 19 percent. None of the other candidates in the race break double digits. The poll of 788 likely Florida Republican primary voters was conducted on Tuesday and had a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.

Reeling from "Grinch" charges, the Obama administration delayed a 15-cent Christmas tree tax before the ink had barely dried on the announcement. Announcing the levy in the Federal Register Tuesday, the administration planned to impose the tax on Christmas trees to pay for a new board to promote the Christmas tree industry. The Agriculture Department would levy the fee on "producers and importers" of fresh Christmas trees, provided they sell or import more than 500 trees a year.

An outspoken opponent of red-light cameras lost his bid for a St. Petersburg City Council seat on Tuesday. But the fight goes on. Brent Hatley, a self-profession libertarian, vowed to do everything I can to make sure red light cameras are not a permanent fixture" as he sought to unseat Bill Dudley. Dudley was among the council members who voted to award an $8.8 million red-light contract in the city.

Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS), part of American Crossroads, a conservative political organization with ties to many prominent Republican leaders including legendary strategist Karl Rove, released an ad in Florida taking aim at President Barack Obama on Wednesday.
