Rick Perry Stays Positive in New Ad in Iowa

The team behind Texas Gov. Rick Perry launched a new television commercial that will be hitting the airwaves in Iowa, the first state to hold a presidential caucus. The ad stresses Perrys biography and ignores the other hopefuls for the Republican presidential nomination.

"Americans have made it clear they want a leader with the values and principles that will reverse the current trajectory of our ... economy and intrusive federal government," Ray Sullivan, a spokesman for Perry, said in a statement. "This new ad underscores Governor Perry's background as a principled leader, whose rural upbringing, service in the U.S. Air Force and experience as a farmer helped mold the values and principles that have guided his leadership over the course of two decades as a public servant. He is the candidate our nation needs to shake up Washington and get our nation working again."
