Job growth slowed in May as the nations unemployment mark ticked upward to 8.2 percent, according to the U.S. Labor Department. With economists expecting payrolls to jump by 150,000, the monthly numbers placed the growth at 69,000 last month. Economic analysts have said that just to hold the unemployment rate still requires 125,000 new jobs a month. The national unemployment rate had dropped from 8.2 percent to 8.1 percent from March to April.

With the start of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season today, Attorney General Pam Bondi advised Floridians to make plans forfamilies and businesses, and be forewarned during any declared state of emergency to guard against price-gouging. Weve already seen two tropical storms in advance of hurricane season, and I encourage Floridians to be prepared before a storm hits, Bondi stated in the release.

Making the Foundations 2012 bipartisan Honor Roll are 10 state senators and seven state representatives. The Florida Supreme Court has disciplined 13 attorneys, with four disbarred and seven suspended, the Florida Bar announced on Thursday. Some attorneys received more than one discipline. The private company, SpaceX, successfully landed its Dragon space capsule in the Pacific Ocean after a nine-day mission to the International Space Station. Doing work formally done by NASA and the space shuttle, the capsule berthed with the ISS, delivering cargo and supplies to astronauts conducting experiments in orbit. Last Tuesday, SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon Capsule on a maiden voyage to the ISS. Upon reaching the space station, a robotic arm docked the Dragon capsule so supplies to the station could be unloaded.
