Gov. Rick Scott stopped off in Gainesville Tuesday to celebrate the grand opening of Mindtree Limited's first U.S. delivery center. The Indian company says its U.S. expansion, which it announced last March, will bring the Gainesville area 400 jobs over the next five years and a $2.925 million capital investment in Ayers Building at Innovation Square. Scott joined Mindtrees co-founders Krishnakumar Natarajan and Scott Staples for the ribbon cutting.

With the manual review of under and over votes completed, state Rep. Chris Dorworth, R-Lake Mary, who was once in line to be House speaker, has conceded Just left a message congratulating newly elected Rep.Mike Clelland, Dorworth Tweeted. May God bless Florida and her House of Representatives. Clelland, an attorney and former firefighter, told the Orlando Sentinel that "Right now, I just want to get up there [to Tally], build some trust with Republicans, find some common ground and get to work."

Gov. Rick Scott will be one of the Friday speakers during the Federalist Society's 2012 National Lawyers Convention in Washington, D.C. The three-day event titled The Future of U.S. Constitutional Law in the Supreme Court is being held at the Mayflower Hotel. The cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is on the rise, but the travel over the rivers to grandmothers house in Florida is expected to be a little cheaper at the pump from a year ago. While a barrel of oil rose slightly in the past week in part on greater consumer confidence, AAA reported that a gallon of regular gas stood at $3.37 in Florida, down 6 cents from both a week and a year ago. "Although oil prices inched up slightly, retail gas prices are expected to fall throughout the month," AAA spokeswoman Jessica Brady stated in a release.

Gov. Rick Scott released the following statement following the release of the 2012 general election results Saturday by the Secretary of State: Around 8.5 million Floridians voted in this general election -- more votes cast than in any other election in state history. A record of nearly 4.8 million Floridians also voted early and absentee ballots. We are glad that so many voters made their voices heard in this election, but as we go forward we must see improvements in our election process.

Hard to imagine that with only three counties remaining there are enough absentee ballots still uncounted that would allow Mitt Romney to overtake President Obama for Floridas now inconsequential 29 electoral votes. Still, no media outlet has called Florida for Obama as Duval, Palm Beach and Broward counties continue to count absentee ballots, according to the Florida Department of State.

The Florida Board of Governors named William Mitchell Bill Brown, president and CEO of Harris Corp., to the Florida Polytechnic University board of trustees. Brown is the final appointment from the state board and Gov. Rick Scott to the Lakeland university that is this year became Floridas 12th public university.
