Noting that his bill reforming the VA department now had a majority of the U.S. Senate co-sponsoring it, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., called for U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to bring it for a vote. Rubios bill, which would give the VA secretary more authority to fire underpeforming employees, has 11 Democrats on board including U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.
