Ray Rodrigues Faces Rematch With Chauncey Solinger

Southwest Florida businessman Chauncey Solinger is back for a rematch with Rep. Ray Rodrigues, R-Fort Myers. In a three-way primary back in 2012, Solinger took 22 percent in the Republican primary but Rodrigues won with 50 percent. Solinger filed to run for the seat again on Tuesday.

Rodrigues, the vice chairman of the Higher Education and Workforce Subcommittee, raised almost $64,000 by the end of April but spent almost $21,000 of it.

Democrat Charles Messina is also in the race but he hasnt done much in the way of fundraising, bringing in $875, loaning his campaign $700 and spending almost $1,550.
