If it had the wit, the Obama administration would be not angered, but appropriately humiliated. President Obama has, once again, been totally outmaneuvered by Vladimir Putin. Two days earlier at the United Nations, Obama had welcomed the return, in force, of the Russian military to the Middle East -- for the first time in decades -- in order to help fight the Islamic State.

The petition to get medical marijuana back on the ballot for 2016 is quickly gaining momentum in Florida, with the People United for Medical Marijuana (United for Care) collecting over 220,000 valid signatures as of Thursday.

Jeff Atwater passed on running for the U.S. Senate in 2012 and did so again earlier this year but now his name is resurfacing as a possible candidate. 

Chief Financial Officer Atwater has a long background in both the private and the public sectors, serving as president and CEO for Barnett Bank in key areas before leading Riverside National Bank in parts of South Florida.

RPOF Wants to Know Where South Florida Democrats Stand on Hillary Clinton's Email Problem

With former U.S. Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, the favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination, headed to Broward College for an event on Friday, the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) wants to know where two South Florida Democrats stand on the controversy over her use of a private server for confidential email she used at the State Department.

Florida Lottery Has Record Quarter in Summer 2015

The first quarter of the new fiscal year was a record one for the Florida Lottery with $1.35 billion in sales from July through September. During the same period last year, the Lottery had $1.25 billion in sales.

Florida Retailers Hope Florida Can Buck National Trend of Less Halloween Spending

Looks like less tricks and less treats this October across the nation--but maybe not in the Sunshine State. The Florida Retail Federation (FRF) offered a forecast on Thursday showing less Halloween spending across the nation with the average American spending less this year. Rick McAllister, the president and CEO of the FRF, said on Thursday he expected Florida to buck that trend. 

Adrian Wyllie Quits as Florida Libertarian Chairman, Opposes Senate Candidate Who Backed Eugenics

Adrian Wyllie has resigned his post as chairman of the Libertarian Party of Florida (LPF), leaving in something of a huff. He opposes the only Libertarian candidate currently running for the U.S. Senate in the Sunshine State in 2016.

University of Tampa Sees Record High Enrollment

The University of Tampa (UT) announced--for the 19th year in a row--a record high enrollment for the fall term.
