Teachers Union Posts a Losing Record in Targeted Congressional Contests

Ron Klein wasn't the National Education Association's only loser in Congress this year.

The teachers' union targeted 10 U.S. House races this election, but in a horrendous year for its subsidiary (i.e., the Democratic Party), the NEA could only manage a 3-7 win-loss record.

Klein, D-Boca Raton, was defeated by Republican Allen West by 10 percentage points. Other specially backed union-backed candidates lost in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Texas. Victories were notched in New York, North Carolina and Ohio.
