In Absentia, Rick Scott is Cheered by Republican Party Crowd in Orlando

One of the biggest applause lines at Friday night's RPOF gathering in Orlando was former House Speaker Allan Bense's praise for Gov. Rick Scott.

"I want to commend the fact that Governor Scott didn't meddle in this race," Bense said in wrapping up an hourlong forum featuring the five candidates for state chairman.

Obama Changes Cuba Visitation Policy

President Barack Obama lifted travel restrictions to Communist Cuba Friday, igniting fierce opposition from Florida Republicans.

Obama Eases Cuba Travel Restrictions

In an announcement Friday, President Barack Obama said he will loosen travel policies for students and religious groups that want to go to Cuba.

Students seeking academic credit and churches traveling for religious reasons would be allowed to go to the communist country.

Additionally, any American will be allowed to send up to $500 every three months to Cubans who are not part of the Castro administration and are not members of the Communist Party.
