Talbot "Sandy" DAlemberte celebrated his 80th birthday last week with a bash at the Florida State University College of Law, where he was dean and continues to teach.

His life story also includes serving as the university's president, as a Democratic state representative from 1966 to 1972, and as president of the American Bar Association. While in the Legislature, DAlemberte chaired the House Judiciary Committee that drafted and passed a major judicial-reform constitutional amendment in 1972.

Demanding Answers from Obama, Vern Buchanan Attacks NSA on Phone Records

On Friday, U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., demanded President Barack Obama provide answers after reports emerged that the National Security Agency (NSA) gathered information on Americans from phone records from AT&T, BellSouth and Verizon

The American people dont want the government snooping into their private lives, said Buchanan, who is a member of the Privacy Caucus. They deserve answers as to why this amount of information was deemed vital to national security.
