Liberal journalists were glowing and full of hope after President Barack Obama won a second term. As 2012 drew to a close, there was the traditional hour of ABC's Barbara Walters fawning: "Mr. President, Mrs. Obama. There is a photograph of you (hugging) that went viral, became the most shared photograph in the history of Twitter. How do you keep the fire going?"

Marco Rubio Uses iPhone to Argue for Free Trade

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., has been waving the banner for free trade in recent days and that proved to be the case on Wednesday at a meeting of the Senate Subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific Affairs. Holding a hearing on Economic Engagement in the Asia-Pacific Region, Rubio insisted free trade helped American workers and the economy.

RPOF Looks to Paint Gwen Graham as a Liberal

The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) turned up the heat on Democratic congressional hopeful Gwen Graham who is challenging U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland, R-Fla. Lenny Curry, the chairman of the RPOF, looked to link Graham -- the daughter of Florida political legend Bob Graham -- to liberals in her party. Graham worked for the presidential campaigns of John Kerry and Howard Dean after her father dropped out of the 2004 presidential campaign.

Record Number of High Schools Earn 'A' Letter Grades

A record number of Florida high schools and combination schools earned an A school grade this year, with 240 schools or 48 percent making the highest grade, according to a press release sent Friday by the Florida Department of Education.

The department also noted that since 2010-11, the number of A high schools and combination schools has jumped by 92 schools, an increase of 17 percentage points.

The results are preliminary pending an appeal window that ends Jan. 22, 2014.
