Ander Crenshaw Doubles Down on the FairTax

U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Fla., is one of 10 Florida Republican congressmen co-sponsoring U.S. Rep. Rod Woodalls, R-Ga., FairTax Act of 2013 (HR 25) and the Jacksonville congressman, who has backed the FairTax since 2006, explained his rationale on Thursday.

Every year Americans negotiate 70,000 pages of costly and complex tax code and spend roughly $265 billion and 6.1 billion hours filling out tax forms, Crenshaw said This amount of time and money can be better spent on growing the economy and creating jobs. Implementing a FairTax would help.

Rick Scott Touts Job Availability in Florida

Gov. Rick Scott praised the availability of jobs in Florida on Thursday -- available job openings in Florida increased in February 2014 compared to the previous February by 9,727, or 3.6 percent, for a total of 278,717 openings.

According to a press release, these figures from Help Wanted Online are an all-time high in the data series, which began nearly a decade ago in May 2005.

Job postings in Florida also increased over the month compared to January 2014 by 8,204 openings or 3.0 percent.
