With 2016 around the corner, the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) will be hosting the Sunshine Summit in Orlando from Nov. 12-Nov. 14 and the stakes will be high. The presidential hopefuls will take most of the spotlight but there’s another important race already taking shape as Rubio has said he will not run for a second Senate term. Florida Republicans Ron DeSantis, David Jolly, Carlos Lopez-Cantera and Todd Wilcox are already off and running and they will be at the Sunshine Summit trying to win support for their Senate bids.

On Tuesday the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)  adjusted its forecast, indicating an even further drop in orange production in Florida than its original grim projections. 

Last month, NASS unveiled its October crop predicting less output across the board for several types of oranges in Florida, forecasting all oranges at 80 million boxes, down 17 percent from last year. But on Tuesday, NASS lowered it even further, down to 74 million boxes. 

Two Florida legislators teamed up Tuesday, the day before Veterans Day, to showcase a proposal allowing new residents who are the surviving spouses of disabled veterans to take advantage of the state’s homestead exemptions for vets. 

Fox Business Network and the Wall Street Journal hosted the fourth round of Republican presidential debates Tuesday night in Milwaukee and the stakes were high. This was supposed to have been a homecoming for Scott Walker but the Wisconsin governor has already bowed out of the race.
