Rick Scott, Will Weatherford, David Rivera Among Florida's GOP Convention Delegates

Headed by Gov. Rick Scott and first lady Ann Scott, the Republican Party of Florida at long last has released to the public its list of delegates for the national convention next week in Tampa.

Other big names on the list include, Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll, House Speaker Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park, House Speaker-designate Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, U.S. Rep. David Rivera, R-Miami, and U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Miami.

Rick Scott Goes Shrimping to Promote Florida Seafood

Photos of Gov. Rick Scotts latest Lets Get to Work" Day, this time as a shrimp boat striker, have been posted on his Facebook page.

During his 12th work day, Scott spent Wednesday on Captain Mikes shrimp boat in Nassau County promoting the seafood industry.

There are people like Captain Mike, who work hard day in and day out to provide for their families and keep Floridas economy moving in the right direction, and I am proud to work alongside him today, Scott stated in a release.

Jeff Atwater to Campaign on Catholic Faith for Devout Mormon Mitt Romney

Floridas Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater will take a lead role for a group being announced this week called Catholics for Romney.

The group is being formed to address concerns that may arise on religious topics through the general election, Atwater said on Wednesday.

In the campaign role, Atwater will be expected to discuss Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romneys policy initiatives that address religious freedom.

Pam Bondi, Jeb Bush on Stage Day 3 at GOP Convention

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and former Gov. Jeb Bush will be on the stage during the third night of next weeks Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who has been releasing the agendas a-day-at-a-time the past three days, announced on Wednesday the theme -- We Can Change It -- and speakers for Aug. 29.

Rick Scott: To Create Jobs, Florida Needs a 'Federal Partner' in the White House

Forget any talk of Florida Gov. Rick Scott torpedoing his message of progress being made in Floridas economy for the sake of any ongoing national campaign seeking to paint a bleaker picture.

Instead, Scott said Tuesday that Floridas resurgence should be seen as a national model, one that a more receptive White House occupant could emulate in the not-too-distant future.

When he addresses the Republican National Convention on Monday, Scott will use the prime-time appearance to talk about the need for a federal partner.

Study: No-Fault Insurance Reform Poised to Cut Costs up to 25 Percent

Motorists could eventually see the no-fault portion of their auto insurance drop 14 percent to 24.6 percent, according to a $150,000 commissioned report released Tuesday by the Office of Insurance Regulation.

But the state is quick to note that while personal injury protection premiums have skyrocketed by $1 billion, due in large part to fraud, the coverage accounts for only about 20 percent of most auto insurance bills.

And any savings will not be seen until after new policies are written following Jan. 1, 2013.

Rick Scott: ‘Absolutely, All Our Delegates Should be Seated’

Gov. Rick Scott said Florida should be allowed it full complement of delegates when the Republican National Convention kicks off next Monday.

Were the biggest swing state in the country, Scott told reporters Tuesday outside the LeRoy Collins Library in Tallahassee.

We were the first big primary win for Mitt Romney.This election is going to be very important to our country. So absolutely, all of our delegates should be seated.

Rick Scott on Stage for GOP Convention's Opening Night

Florida Gov. Rick Scott will be on the main stage the opening night of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, appearing after a late afternoon recess as the four-night event heads into its first prime-time appearance.

Scott will join House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and Ann Romney, the wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, in speaking the first night of the GOP convention at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
