As many of you know from my past columns, I haven’t been a fan of Donald Trump. Regardless, I always said I would vote for him given the alternative, which was much, much worse.

It’s fashionable these days to hear that medical pot -- Amendment 2 -- is going to win at the ballot box and become a part of our Constitution. Not so fast.

Gov. Jeb Bush was universally acclaimed for his steadfast leadership during the torrent of hurricanes that ravaged Florida during his terms in office. And, indeed, he deserves everyone’s praise, because he did a remarkable job preparing Florida for hurricanes. But then he really shone by getting into the details of helping communities recover post-hurricane.

Dear Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric & Tiffany,

As a conservative Democrat in the swing state of Florida, I wanted to share with you some concerns that I’ve got about the way your father is campaigning for president.  

Over the past few months America -- and now, unfortunately, Florida -- has witnessed horrific mass killings by individuals who have adopted violence as a way to advertise their allegiance to ISIS or enshrine themselves in infamy.

I agree with the recent op-ed by Mac Stipanovich about GOP presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, to a point.

With recent comments by Donald Trump about who he’d consider being his running mate, it made me think about what a Trump Cabinet might look like if he selected only from his competitors.

How duplicitous that Apple would talk about privacy rights while refusing to help protect the national security of the country that gave it the chance to be founded.

Criminal justice issues have dominated our headlines for many months.  Not just about terrorism, but also about suspects who have mental health issues. 

Over the last several months we’ve heard the continuing refrain from Hillary Clinton and her campaign that she has “never received or sent any classified emails.”

And the mainstream press continues to recite that chorus as if that’s the operative question surrounding the bizarre case of Hillary having used a personal email account while she was secretary of state.
