You probably can't imagine how much fun I've had at Sunshine State News over the last 10 years. I don't think anybody could.

Over the last eight years, most Democratic politicians have made a distinction between The Good War (Afghanistan) and The Bad War (Iraq). That very much includes Barack Obama.
Congress will be a bit busier this week after the new senator from West Virginia is sworn in as the 100th senator, filling the vacancy caused by the death of Democratic Sen. Robert C. Byrd.
WASHINGTON -- When H.L. Mencken said that Puritanism was "the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy," he was barely grazing the iceberg of the titanic fundamentalism to come.

President Barack Obama signed an order to begin automatic federal spending cuts Friday, as the deadline arrived and Congress headed home for the weekend without reaching a deal to avoid sequestration.
Obama decried the cuts during a half-hour press conference at the White House. Federal defense and services spending will be cut by $85 billion over the remainder of the year.As one of the largest defense-centric states, Florida is bracing to be hit with the consequences.
