On Thursday, U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., will be celebrating the Fourth of July by speaking to more than 200 new citizens from 50 nations who will become American citizens at the Freedom Tower in Miami. The new citizens include five members of the armed forces.
Ros-Lehtinen said, in a statement on Tuesday, that the location for the ceremony was very meaningful on both a symbolic and a personal level.

The Florida Legislature named 29 legislators as 2013 Distinguished Advocates on Tuesday, honoring them for championing the Florida Chamber of Commerce's Florida Business Agenda. Each year, the Florida Chamber names Distinguished Advocates who go "above and beyond" in advocating pro-jobs legislation to make Florida a more competitive state.

On Monday, U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., announced she was going to co-sponsor the Death Tax Repeal Act. Ros-Lehtinen argued on Monday that the tax hurts small businesses and farmers.
I am proud to once again support this much-needed bill which should be the No. 1 em on our tax reform agenda this year, she said. As unemployment is still far too high, we must do all we can to remove taxes that harm families, farms and small businesses. It will greatly benefit the South Florida community at this critical time.
