After 10 Glorious Years, Sunshine State News and I Are Passing the Baton

You probably can't imagine how much fun I've had at Sunshine State News over the last 10 years. I don't think anybody could.

Remember the video of first-grader Kameria crying hysterically when she found out President Obama soon would be leaving office? Her grandmother, Caprina Harris, uploaded the video to Facebook and it went viral. Eventually, it was seen by President Obama and little Kameria and her family received an invitation to the White House to visit with the President and the First Lady.
Here's a poll you won't see widely in Florida mainstream media -- because, frankly, the press is either in deep denial or it's looking for a way to smear it in lipstick. But here it is, released Wednesday by Gallup:  "Americans' trust and confidence in the mass media 'to report the news fully, accurately and fairly' has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with 32 percent (of respondents) saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media."

Modern tyrannies depend on state control of national memories -- retroactive truths established by government fiat. Which is why Russia's Supreme Court recently upheld the conviction of a blogger for violating Article 354.1 of Russia's criminal code.
