Port St. Lucie residents are restless and the city's police officers are calling their union reps over a City Hall that appears to be reeling out of control. Officials in the city -- once one of the country's fastest-growing cities; now suffering among nation's highest levels of foreclosures and unemployment -- gave initial approval this week to a 17 percent increase in the property tax rate. While hundreds of taxpayers protest that move, the police chief is proposing to lay off 24 more officers next month.

On Friday, state CFO Alex Sink, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, released her tax returns for the last five years -- and called for Republican rival Rick Scott to do the same. Sink posted her tax returns-- and those of her husband attorney Bill McBride who was the Democratic candidate who lost to Gov. Jeb Bush back in 2002 -- on her site.

The campaign team of Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott weighed in on Friday on the announcement earlier in the day that Floridas unemployment rose to 11.7 percent -- and looked to blame their Democratic opponent, state CFO Alex Sink.

Former House Speaker Marco Rubio, the Republican candidate in the U.S. Senate, weighed in on the announcement made earlier on Friday that Floridas unemployment rate grew to 11.7 percent in August.
