Is Florida a Good Steward of Its Money?

March 1, 2010 - 6:00pm

What role -- if any -- does state government have in shepherding Florida through tough economic times?

While Washington has taken the Keynesian approach of pumping public dollars into private sector (notably, banks) and shovel-ready public-works projects, Tallahassee has been more restrained. Playing Expectations Game

March 6, 2010 - 6:00pm

Butt out. No, fix it. Spend. No, cut!

Meanwhile, House leaders said Monday that they would not be deterred by a report last week that found that drilling in Florida waters would "have no discernible impact" on gas prices or the nation's dependence on foreign oil, even if it would pump millions into state coffers.
