Conservatives Continue Protest of TLC's 'All-American Muslim' Show

The Florida Family Association announced on Monday that another company has agreed not to run commercials during All-American Muslim on The Learning Channel.

Pernod Ricard USA -- which has run Kahlua ads during the show -- sent a letter to David Caton, the executive director of the FFA, in which it maintained it would not run any further ads on the show.

Buddy Roemer Wants Joe Lieberman as VP

Former Gov. Buddy Roemer of Louisiana, now making a dark-horse bid for the Republican presidential nomination while speculation continues to grow that he may launch an independent presidential campaign, weighed in on Sunday on who he wanted as his vice president -- a man who had been up for the office before: U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn. Lieberman had been Al Gores running mate on the Democratic ticket back in 2000.

FAMU Appoints Task Force to Look Into Band Hazing Incident

On Wednesday, James Ammons, the president of Florida A&M University, announced that he had appointed a task force led by former Attorney General Bob Butterworth and Quincy Police Chief Walt McNeil to investigate the death of Robert Champion, a student who died in Orlando in Saturday after an alleged hazing incident involving the famous Marching 100 band.

Rick Scott Brings FDLE Into FAMU Suspected Hazing Investigation

The state government is now looking into the death of Robert Champion, a Florida A&M University student who was a drum major with the famous Marching 100 band, on Saturday in a suspect hazing incident in Orlando. While the bands activities have been suspended by the university as officials investigate, Gov. Rick Scott sent a letter to Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Commissioner Gerald Bailey to work with Orange County officials in ivestigating the matter.

John Thune Backs Mitt Romney for GOP Nod in 2012

U.S. Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., announced on Wednesday that he is backing former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts for the Republican presidential nomination. Thune, who defeated then-Democratic Senate Leader Tom Daschle in 2004, had considered making a bid for the GOP nomination himself.

Newt Gingrich Leads in Iowa while Herman Cain and Michelle Bachmann Collapse

An American Research Group poll released on Wednesday, of likely votes in the Iowa Republican caucus, found that former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich has moved to the front of the pack of Republican presidential candidates in the Hawkeye State -- while businessman Herman Cain and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., have collapsed there.

Gingrich takes 27 percent in the poll, followed by former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 20 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, places third with 16 percent.

Mitt Romney Hits the Airwaves With a TV Ad in New Hampshire

On Tuesday, former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts released his first television commercial as he continues his second bid for the Republican presidential nomination. In the new ad, which is being run in New Hampshire, Romney attacks President Barack Obamas handling of the economy. While New Hampshire is important as the first state to hold a presidential primary, it is also a battleground in the general election -- one of the reasons Obama is visiting it this week.

Newt Gingrich Rises and Herman Cain Sinks in New Q-Poll

A national poll from Quinnipiac University, unveiled on Tuesday, found that former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich has rocketed to the top of the pack of candidates for the Republican presidential nomination -- while businessman Herman Cain has plummeted.

Gingrich, who took 10 percent in a Q-poll released Nov. 2, leads the field with 26 percent followed by former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts with 22 percent. Cain, who led the Nov. 2 poll with 30 percent, has fallen to third with 14 percent.

A poll of likely voters in the New Hampshire Republican primary released by Suffolk University/7NEWS (WHDH TV) late Monday found that former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts has a commanding lead in the nations first presidential primary.
