Poll Shows Close Battle Between Romney and Santorum in Michigan

Another poll shows its a close battle between Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in the Michigan Republican presidential primary.

Rasmussen Reports released a poll of likely primary voters which finds Romney beating Santorum by a small margin -- within the margin of error. Romney takes 38 percent followed by Santorum with 36 percent. Ron Paul is in distant third with 11 percent, just ahead of Newt Gingrich, who takes 10 percent. Five percent are undecided and 1 percent back other candidates.

George LeMieux Continues Charlie Sheen Attack Against Connie Mack

Republican Senate hopeful former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux continued to fire away at GOP primary rival U.S. Rep. Connie Mack. LeMieux, who called Mack the Charlie Sheen of Florida politics last week, went back to that line of attack in a Web video released on Monday with the theme of Two and a Half Macks, a clear take-off of the Two and a Half Men sitcom that Sheen used to appear in. The ad also looks to remind voters that Mack is not his father, who served in the Senate for 12 years.

Vern Buchanan Backs Obama's Call to Lower Corporate Tax Rate

On Friday, from his perch on the Ways and Means Committee, U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., offered qualified support to President Barack Obamas plan to lower the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 28 percent, but insisted that more needed to be done.

Allen West Gets the Endorsement of Tom Rooney

U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney endorsed fellow Florida Republican U.S. Rep. Allen West on Friday. With the congressional districts redrawn by the Legislature, Rooney represents some of the district that West is currently running for. West faces Martin County Sheriff Bob Crowder --who backed Democrat candidate Alex Sink in 2010 during the closest gubernatorial election in Floridas history --for the Republican nomination.

Mitt Romney Beats Rick Santorum by 13 Percent in Arizona Poll

Mitt Romney has built a solid lead over Rick Santorum in Arizona, which holds its primary on Tuesday, according to a poll released by Rasmussen Reports on Friday.

The poll of likely primary voters has Romney taking 42 percent while Santorum places second with 29 percent. Newt Gingrich garners 16 percent while Ron Paul lags in single digits with 8 percent. One percent back other candidates. According to the poll, there are not enough undecided voters for Santorum to catch up -- only 3 percent of those surveyed are undecided.

Newt Gingrich Leads the GOP Pack in Poll of Georgia

While he is fading in other states and in the national polls, Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich is ahead in his old stomping grounds in Georgia, which holds its primary on March 6.

Gingrich leads a Rasmussen Reports poll of likely Republican primary voters in the Peach State with 33 percent, while Rick Santorum places second with 28 percent. Mitt Romney comes in third with 20 percent, while Ron Paul lags with 9 percent. Eight percent remain undecided and 2 percent support other candidates.

Connie Mack's Team Pushes Back Against George LeMieux's Charlie Sheen Comment

Jeff Cohen, the campaign manager for U.S. Senate hopeful U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, sent a follow-up open letter to Republican primary rival former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux on Thursday -- pushing back against LeMieux comparing Mack to Charlie Sheen in a media event on Wednesday.
