Bolstered by a federal judge's decision, the League of Women Voters and Rock the Vote say they are back in the business of registering Florida voters. Although both organizations registered voters prior to 2011, the passage of House Bill 1355 established "onerous and impracticable requirements for third-party voter registration," the groups said. Now, after a federal judge preliminarily blocked the law's provision requiring that completed registration forms must be submitted within 48 hours, LWV and Rock the Vote registrars are heading back onto the streets.

Gov. Rick Scott defended a review of the state's supervisors of elections Wednesday on the radio. "My whole administration is trying to come up with a way so you know how your dollars are being spent," Scott said during a lively interview with Bill Mick of WMMB 1240 AM in Melbourne.

In the end, Tuesday's Scott Walker recall election wasn't even close. The gritty Republican governor of Wisconsin pulled in 54 percent of the vote to Democrat Tom Barrett's 45 percent. The result, closely watched by the White House, devastated Democrats and labor unions. Scott Walker on Tuesday and the performance of the Miami Heat, falling in game 5 of the Eastern Conference playoffs on Tuesday night. Florida Republican Party Chairman Lenny Curry thanked "citizen activists" who have embarked on an effort to ensure that the state's voter rolls are free of noncitizens. Scott Plakon's call for an investigation to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. President Barack Obama is drawing fire from Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS), an organization with ties to many prominent Republicans including Karl Rove. Crossroads GPS is running a new ad slamming Obama on the national debt in a $5.5 million ad campaign being launched in key battleground states, including Florida, on Tuesday. Crossroads GPS is spending $1.7 million to run the ad in the Sunshine State over the next two weeks.
