An environmental control system duct problem has delayed, until Wednesday, the planned Monday launch of an Atlas 5 rocket, carrying a classified National Reconnaissance Office payload, from Cape Canaveral.The duct in the ground equipment required the 19-story rocket to be rolled back to the assembly hangar. The window is now between 8:28 to 9:27 a.m. (EDT) on Wednesday.

Gov. Rick Scott will be out on a ranch for his 10th Lets Get to Work day on Monday. In order to highlight the economic impact of Floridas cattle industry, Scott will spend the day with Williamson Cattle Co. in Okeechobee, according to a release from his office. Scott will be working with cattle and at a livestock auction, as he is also scheduled to be at the Okeechobee Livestock Market during the day.

An Alachua County woman, Zonia Cooper, was arrested after an investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the state attorneys office, alleging she exploited 11 disabled adults. The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is dedicated to protecting elderly and disabled adults in health-care facilities throughout Florida, and we will not allow these individuals to be exploited or abused, Attorney General Pam Bondi stated in a release.

East Coast residents may get a chance to see an Atlas 5 rocket, with a classified National Reconnaissance Office payload, launched from Cape Canaveral. The 19-story rocket is set to go up between 8:26 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. from the Complex 41 pad. While the launch is set to head east over the Atlantic, details about the ascent and its duration were not released. Space Coast watchers should expect to get updates only for the first stage of the flight, up to the jettison of the nose cone, which should occur about five minutes after liftoff.

Rick Scott has ordered state and national flags to be at half-staff at the Volusia County Courthouse, Deland City Hall and at the Capitol in Tallahassee on Saturday, June 16, for Private Second Class Cory D. Eiland. Eiland, assigned to Charlie Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y., died of injuries from a single-car crash on June 6 in Hammond, N.Y.

Elizabeth L. Webster, the regional vice president of health services for Arcadian Health Plan, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Board of Governors of the State University System. Webster, 39, of Weston, has been with Arcadian Health Plan since 2008. Previously, she was director of case management and admissions for Cornerstone Hospital from 2006 to 2008 and executive director of case management for Kindred Hospital from 2002 to 2005.

Floridas unemployment ticked down to 8.6 percent in May, down 0.01 percent from a month earlier, and 2 full points from a year earlier, according to the state Department of Economic Opportunity. The release also noted that for the first time since January 2009, the estimated number of unemployed dropped below 800,000.

Rick Scott, who has been a champion of building up Floridas port system in anticipation of capturing the growth in maritime trade, held a ceremonial signing of two transportation-related bills while at Port Miami on Thursday. Well over 1 million Florida jobs rely on international business, and along with international investment it accounted for about one-sixth of Floridas economy last year, Scott stated in a release while attending the Breaking Down Barriers to International Trade Forum hosted by the World Trade Center Miami.

The U.S. Senate voted 50-46 to table an amendment backed by a group of sugar users that would have phased out the federal sugar program, comprised of marketing allotments and import restrictions. Associated Industries of Florida took action against the legislation it deemed harmful to one of Floridas largest industries. The states premier business lobby group urged members of Congress to oppose the amendment to the 2012 Farm Bill, saying Florida sugar farmers provide 12,311 jobs and $3.3 billion of economic activity in the state.
