Welcome to Sunshine State News Version 3.0

June 1, 2015 - 10:00am

At Sunshine State News, we decided to celebrate the Special Session with a complete overhaul of our news site! Or so it would seem.

... Fortunately for us, we had already started working on it months ago in anticipation of what we thought would be a prolonged timeline for legislative stories.

We just plain had lucky timing, folks. What are the odds we would decide to invest in a soup-to-nuts update of our website the same year that the House and Senate ended up at complete odds over several high-profile items?  ... Oh, never mind.

The point is, we've taken to heart our readers' feedback, suggestions and wish lists and wrapped them up into the what-you-could-call SunshineStateNews.com 3.0.

You'll still find the same tantalizing content, writers and personalities that keep you with us each day.  But, now, we'll be delivering our news and commentary to your computer, tablet or smartphone in an easier-to-navigate and more user-friendly way.

You'll also find a more robust choice of social media content as well as handy apps like stocks and weather.  And, of course, our crowd-pleaser: the Sunshine State News Poll ... don't forget to cast your vote!

We hope you like the updates and will bear with us as we work out the last kinks and bugs. For all of you who had registered accounts, we hope you'll have the patience to re-register, as we've added new protections and security for our users.

Thank you all for being loyal readers.  We appreciate each and every one of you.

We hope you enjoy Special Session via SSN 3.0!

In the meantime, please email me with any comments you have on our updated website -- all feedback is more than welcome. Particularly while we're tweaking these changes: nsmith@sunshinestatenews.com.
