Voters Must Ensure Constitutional Republic by Electing Trump

November 2, 2016 - 10:00pm

There are two starkly different paths for America in 2016. One with a robust economy with a vision from a successful businessman and one from a decades-old political insider who will continue the flat-lined economy which President Obama implemented.

Hillary Clinton wants to raise taxes on job creators and working Americans and impose more government regulations which will constrain economic growth. She will continue the academic disaster called Common Core for America's school children. Trump wants to cut taxes on all people so that millions of jobs will be created. Trump has stated, for any new government regulation two will be cut. With 95 million Americans out of work, Trump's vision is the winner. He has also vowed to rid the country of Common Core, which has been the wrecking ball of a sound classical education.

The future of the judicial branch will be determined in this election. Do we want more rulings from the Supreme Court which violate state’s rights, religious liberty, and the will of the voters regarding abortion, and the authentic definition of marriage? The balance on the court is hanging by a thread. One can legitimately ask this: Will the right to life, the rule of law and the Constitution remain in these United States after Nov. 8? It is our moral duty to preserve it.

This past 10 days revealed unprecedented corruption between the Wikileak emails and statement by FBI Director Jim Comey that the FBI has reopened the investigation of  Hillary Clinton, finding more than 650,000 emails on a private laptop. These communications were saved by Clinton’s closest assistant, Huma Abedin.

The Department of Justice under the direction of Loretta Lynch, played a major role running interference for Clinton's presidential candidacy, which included blocking FBI agents from investigating the Clinton Foundation. That is a crime called obstruction of justice. One can only imagine what conversation was exchanged on that plane during Lynch's private meeting with Bill Clinton.

Both Hillary Clinton and Abedin in sworn testimony to Congress said they did not send or receive classified information on Clinton's unsecured server. FBI director Comey affirmed that they did. So they both lied under oath. That's called perjury. Abedin said no other electronic device had Clinton emails on it in her possession. How does one forget about 650,000 emails? Any regular citizen would be prosecuted and sent to prison for such dishonesty and violations of the espionage act.

The emails reveal a pattern of corruption and bribery never seen by a presidential candidate. That includes dictators hostile to America donating millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation in what certainly appears to be an exchange of access for favors toward those  dictators or countries. Why did the King of Morocco give the Clintons $12 million? Qatar gave $1 million for Clinton’s birthday. Why?

This election brings to mind a scripture from Luke's Gospel: "When the Son of man comes, will he find any faith left on the earth?"  The character of our country will be known by the way we vote in this critical election. St. Mother Teresa once said,  “a nation will be judged by the way it defends the most vulnerable of its people,” including the unborn, the disabled and elderly.

Clinton supports the barbaric procedure of partial birth abortion, a procedure in which a full term baby is delivered half way out of the mother's womb, its skull crushed and brains suctioned out. This is not done to preserve the life of the mother. No decent American should allow a person to lead this country who not only supports that but will force taxpayers to fund it.

Enough is enough as Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said recently in Tampa.

Eight years of a failed economy is enough. Eight years of the Clintons in the White House is enough. The Clintons are the most corrupt politicians in modern history. Their lust for power and money is insatiable.

It is time to elect an outsider, a successful businessman who does not want anyone's money, especially money from special interests in Washington, D.C.  Americans' priorities must come first, not those of the ruling class in both parties.

Donald Trump will restore this constitutional republic back to “We the People.” Make sure that happens on Nov. 8.

Nancy Peek McGowan is president of the Conservative Republican Forum of Jacksonville. She is also an active member of the Republican Executive Committee of Duval County, for which she serves as vice chair of fundraising.
