Sunshine State News will begin a Wednesday series of commentary by former legislator and gubernatorial candidate Robert W. McKnight under the heading "Golden Age Quorum Call." Look for the first one on this page beginning tomorrow.
McKnight, a state senator and representative from South Florida during the 1970s and 1980s, served in Tallahassee during some of the Legislature's most colorful times and has hair-curling stories of the genuine characters who walked tall in the Capitol before most of us remember.
He has written two best-selling books on Florida politics, "The Golden years ... The Florida Legislature, a memoir" and "Accidental Ambition," a co-authored political novel. Both books are available from Amazon.com.
McKnight writes a weekly political column for the Tallahassee Democrat, provides political commentary on statewide television for "Facing Florida" and serves when called upon for commentary on ABC, CBS and FOX News.
Much of the content for "Golden Age Quorum Call" will be drawn from Sen. McKnight's memoir.
