Democrats bring in the big guns this week.
President Barack Obama was in the state this weekend on government business meeting with Gov. Charlie Crist on oil spill issues in Panama City. But hell be back later in the week at the other end of the state to help raise money for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink and other Democrats down the ballot.
Obama will be at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, and will be joined by Sink, U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, among others.
In appearing with Meek, Obama makes good on a promise by Meek that the White House would eventually move to help him not Democratic opponent Jeff Greene.
In addition to getting some help from the president, Meek will also get help on the stump this week from former President Bill Clinton, who makes three South Florida stops with the congressman on Monday.
With the Rick Scott-Bill McCollum primary on the other side having dominated much of the political news and the airwaves Democrats may take some of the coverage this week for a change, particularly in South Florida.
Its the final full week before the primary.
