What do you consider to be your biggest political achievement ?
The signing into law HB 271 otherwise known as "Rachel's Law" which requires law enforcement agencies to disclose certain information to person requested to be informants. It also requires training for persons involved with recruitment and use of informants and requires agencies to preserve the safety of informants. It passed the House 117-0 and SB 604 its companion passed the Senate 40-0. The bill stemmed from the murder of Rachel Hoffman on May 7, 2008. She was killed while acting as a police informant during a botched drug sting in Tallahassee. Both of her parents live in my District.
What was your biggest political faux pas ?
I've voted for bills that I didn't truly understand. They turned out to have a different intent than I thought they would.
Who in state government do you most admire ?
Rep. Bill Proctor because when he speaks people listen and he doesn't speak unless he really has something very important to say.
Who in the world do you most admire ?
My son Christopher, he's a seventh grade teacher which isn't an easy age for kids and he does and outstanding job with them.
Who is your favorite lawmaker of the opposite party and why ?
Rep. James Waldman of Coconut Creek, he really has good ideas and is easy to work with.
What do you remember as being your wackiest constituent request ?
I really can't remember any because I work very closely with my constituents.
What is your favorite place in the world ?
No place comes to mind right away I love Florida.
What is your least favorite household chore ?
I really don't like cleaning bathrooms.
