What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I wanted to play baseball for the New York Yankees. I grew up in New York City.
What do you consider to be your biggest political achievement?
I was elected to the Florida House in a district that had very few black voters. I campaigned quite hard in Century Village.
What was your biggest political faux pas?
I can't think of any.
Who in state government do you most admire?
Larry Cretul, David Rivera and Bill Galvano -- they're all outstanding leaders.
Who in all the world do you most admire?
President Obama, because of the way that he serves all of the people.
Who is your favorite lawmaker of the opposite party and why?
Larry Cretul, because he is an outstanding speaker and he lets both parties be heard.
What do you remember as the most unusual request you received from a constituent?
I once helped a 95-year-old retired insurance agent get back his honorary license before he died. He had devoted most of his life to his job and he wanted that more than anything before he passed.
What is your favorite place in the world?
I love Hallandale. I live on the Intracoastal (Waterway), have a boat and love to fish.
What is your least favorite household chore?
Doing the dishes. I'd rather do just about anything else.
