What did you want to be when you were growing up ?
I wanted to be a doctor and I'm an orthopedic surgeon. I also teach in the Medical School at the University of South Florida
What do you consider to be your biggest political achievement ?
It hasn't happened yet.
What was your biggest political faux pas ?
It was late in the session my freshman year and we were on the floor late at night. I had been through a long day and I momentarily fell asleep. Well, there was a photographer from the Tampa Tribune in the gallery and he took a picture of me with my eyes closed and my mouth wide open. It appeared on the front page of the next day's paper and you could see my tonsils.
Who in state government do you most admire ?
Bob Butterworth he was the Attorney General under three different Governor's and Secretary of the Department of Children and Families at a very diiffult time in the agencies history.
Who in all the world do you most admire ?
I'd really need some time to think about that before I could give you a good answer,
Who is your favorite lawmaker of the party and why ?
Sen. Dan Gelber becuase he's such a class act.
What do you remember as being your wackiest constituent request ?
I once had a man ask me to sponsor a bill to establish a splitting lane for motorcycles. I didn't know what the term splitting meant in that context. It's where motorcycles are driven between cars on the highway.
What is your favorite place in the world ?
Both my wife and I are doctor's so our schedules are very busy. Any time I'm home with my wife and children is my favorite place.
What is your least favorite household chore ?
Cooking we eat out a lot.
