What did you want to be when you were growing up?
An astronaut or a teacher, and I became a high school history teacher.
What do you consider to be your biggest political achievement?
Getting elected and having the opportunity to represent my district.
What was your biggest political faux pas?
Underestimating the amount of work it takes to be a state representative.
Who in state government do you most admire?
My mother, State Sen. Larencia Bullard. She is a real trail-blazer.
Who in all the world do you most admire?
Dr. Martin Luther King and Gandhi because they took nothing for granted.
Who is your favorite lawmaker of the opposite party and why?
Abraham Lincoln, because he was thrust into a position of having to make decisions that are still having an impact on our country. I also admire Gov. Charlie Crist because of the work he has done on behalf of education.
What do you remember as being your wackiest constituent request?
One person thought I actually had stimulus dollars on me and could just pull them out of my pocket.
What is your favorite place in the world?
My home because it's where I go to relax.
What is your least favorite household chore?
Mopping the floor. I'd rather do any other chore than that.
