What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I was born on an Air Force base in Germany and always wanted to be a fighter pilot.
What do you consider to be your biggest political achievement?
Getting my first bill, HB 497, approved by the governor. (The 2005 bill was known as the Angelica and Veronica Velez Memorial Safety Act.)
What was your biggest political faux pas?
I really can't recall any.
Who in government do you most admire?
Former House Speaker and Sen. Daniel Webster, who was the first Republican speaker of the House in 122 years. He had outstanding character and commitment to his job.
Who in all the world do you most admire?
My wife, because she is a great companion and advisor.
Who is your favorite lawmaker of the opposite party and why?
Sen. Christopher Smith. He was an outstanding leader in the House and is doing an equally good job in the Senate.
What do you remember as being your wackiest constituent request?
I really can't recall any truly whacky ones.
What is your favorite place in the world?
New Smyrna Beach. I really find it beautiful and quite relaxing.
What is your least favorite household chore?
Cleaning the pool. I really don't like that job.
