With buzz growing that he could enter the Democratic presidential primaries, Vice President Joe Biden is heading to South Florida next week to make the case for President Barack Obama’s deal with Iran over its nuclear program.

Biden was asked by U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), to speak to Jewish leaders in South Florida. The vice president will be speaking to them on Sept. 3 in Miami.

Wasserman Schultz weighed in on Thursday, saying she was excited to hear what Biden had to say.

“I’m looking forward to the vice president’s trip to South Florida next week,” Wasserman Schultz said. “There are a number of questions and concerns that I have, along with my constituents and community leaders, about the agreement negotiated with the P5+1 nations and Iran, and given his extensive experience in the foreign policy arena and his intimate knowledge of the negotiations, I believe Vice President Biden can be an effective representative to respond to those questions.

“Throughout my process of reviewing the agreement and speaking with nuclear experts, economists, and administration officials, my goal has been and remains seeking as much information as possible to make an informed decision on this issue of great national and international security,” Wasserman Schultz added. “Ultimately, I will make this most consequential of decisions based on what I believe is the best way to prevent Iran from achieving their nuclear ambitions.”

The  Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) weighed in on Thursday over Biden's visit.

"The momentum to draft Joe Biden into the race is growing and is a direct result of the increasing distrust that the majority of Americans feel towards Hillary Clinton,” said Wadi Gaitan, a spokesman for the RPOF. “After five months of negative headlines and now part of an FBI investigation, Clinton’s campaign is flailing – and it is not surprising that Democrats are looking for other options. Unfortunately, Biden, like Clinton, has been part of an administration whose policies have resulted in a stagnant economy and less opportunity for hard-working Floridians.”

Biden will also be in Miami on Sept. 2 to give a speech at Miami-Dade College. According to a release from the vice president’s office on Thursday, the speech will be on the importance of coordinating community college education and businesses.
