Expect Tallahassee to be all about Gov. Rick Scott's inauguration Monday, featuring parties that set the scene for another four years in the Florida government.
Florida Cabinet members will hold a variety of events in the state capital to kick off the week. The events, which in earlier years tended to lean toward the formal, have generally taken a turn toward the casual in 2015.
Heres whats going on in Tallahassee on Monday:
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, who easily won her re-election campaign against former Department of Children and Families Secretary George Sheldon, will have a celebration at the Governors Club in Tallahassee from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam is hostingan event at the Goodwood Museum and Gardens.
Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater will be hosting two events. The CFO will offer coffee and refreshments as well as a place to kick back and relax throughout the day at the Tallahassee DoubleTree at 101 S. Adams St.
Atwater will also bring ribs and what are billed as "finger-licking good eats" to the state capital Monday evening, hosting a barbecue from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The barbecue will be at 2600 Lucerne Drive in Tallahassee.
Since winning his re-election campaign against former Gov. Charlie Crist in November, Gov. Rick Scott has already been at work promoting his next four years in office, honing in on the importance of job growth and expanding the state economy. It was, he said, his way of sharing his inauguration with Floridians around the state.
In December the governor traveled across the state as part of his Jobs Jamboree tour, focusing on job creators and the working class.
Scott reeled in $800,000 in inaugural contributions with the largest donations coming from Associated Industries of Floridas business PAC, Florida Insurance Council and Scott Holdings, which each shelled out $100,000 toward inaugural events.
Scott will hold a public reception at the governors mansion at 6 p.m. His swearing in will be at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday on the steps of the Old Capitol in Tallahassee.
