Republicans from Florida continue to raise their voices demanding President Barack Obama remove U.S.? ?Attorney General Eric Holder from office.?
On Monday,? ?with a leading IRS official telling congressional investigators that investigations of tea party and conservative groups extended above IRS staffers in Cincinnati,? ?freshman U.S.? ?Rep.? ?Ron DeSantis,? ?R-Fla.,? ?once again asked Obama to fire Holder.
?President Obama? -?-? ?I ask that you immediately remove Attorney General Holder from office,? ?DeSantis wrote on Monday.?
This is the latest effort from DeSantis to remove Holder.? ?DeSantis has been increasingly vocal in recent weeks,? ?including hitting the national airwaves,? ?demanding Obama dismiss Holder.?
DeSantis is not the only Florida Republican who is growing increasingly loud demanding Holder leave office.? ?Last week,? ?U.S.? ?Rep.? ?Dennis Ross,? ?R-Fla., took to the pages of the Lakeland Ledger,? ?Brandon Patch and Lake Wales Daily Ridge on Wednesday to argue that Holder needs to go.?
Ross helped organize an effort to get Republicans in the U.S.? ?House to sign a letter to Obama demanding Holders head.? Forty-five? ?other Republicans in Congress signed Ross?s ?letter.? ?Four other members of the Florida delegation besides DeSantis and Ross signed the letter:? ?John Mica,? ?Rich Nugent,? ?Bill Posey and Ted Yoho.
Saying the president needed to? ?restore the trust of the American public in? ?the office of attorney general,? ?the congressmen demanded Obama? ?immediately? ?let Holder go.?
Attorney General Eric Holder has failed to uphold his important duties to the American public on numerous occasions,? ?the congressmen wrote.?
The letter mentions Holders role in the? ?Fast and Furious? ?scandal,? ?recent revelations concerning the Justice Departments handling of the phone records of reporters from Fox News and the Associated Press,? ?and the FBIs handling of the phone records of many ordinary Americans.? ?The congressmen accused Holder of trying to? ?govern by fear and intimidation.?
On Monday,? ?DeSantis sent out a link to the letter on Twitter and once again asked people to retweet if they believe Holder needs to go.? ?Earlier in the month,? ?Holder said he had no intention to resign but he is facing increased criticism,? ?including from his fellow Democrats.? ?For example,? ?U.S.? ?Sen.? ?Joe Manchin,? ?D-W.Va.,? ?is now on record demanding Holder must go.?
