President Donald Trump is returning to the Sunshine State next week as he tries to help former U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., the Republican candidate for governor, catch Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, the Democrat in the race, with a rally scheduled for the Fort Myers area on Halloween night.

Trump’s campaign team announced on Wednesday afternoon that the president will appear at a Make America Great Rally at the Hertz Arena in Estero next Wednesday night.

“President Trump is expected to discuss the success of his America First agenda which is delivering new jobs and bigger paychecks to the hardworking men and women of Florida, as well as the critical need for Floridians to get out and vote for the GOP in the midterm elections,” his campaign team noted.

“We are pleased to announce the next stop on our national midterm campaign tour with a Make America Great Again rally on Wednesday, October 31st in Fort Myers, Florida, featuring President Donald Trump,” said Michael Glassner, the COO of Trump’s campaign team.

“President Trump looks forward to celebrating the success of his America first agenda that’s delivering more jobs and bigger paychecks to families all across the Sunshine State. The president will also remind Floridians of the critical need to get out and vote between now and Election Day on November 6th to help protect and expand the Republican majorities in the House and Senate,” Glassner added.

Trump helped DeSantis win the Republican primary over state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam back in August, including holding a rally with him in the Tampa Bay area. DeSantis is also getting help from other members of the Trump administration. Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to campaign with DeSantis in Jacksonville on Thursday before holding events with Gov. Rick Scott who is challenging U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., next month.
