Florida Senate War Chests: South Florida Races Bring In the Bucks

The race to make it to the Florida Capitol is heating up, and politicians are stockpiling loads of cash to help them secure a win in November to send them to Tallahassee next year.

Unlike the top war chests in the race for Florida House seats, the top Senate war chests are a mixed bag, with a slightly higher number of Democrats snagging a spot in the top 10. Republicans have six out of the top 10 seats, with four Democrats rounding out the group. 

Newly redrawn district lines have created the perfect storm for competitive and expensive campaigns in 2016.

The New York Times proclaimed the results of its six-week "investigation" of Donald Trump's behavior with women on the front page of the Sunday paper. It discovered that Trump is kind of sleazy around women. The Times wants us to know this right now -- as opposed to six months ago -- when it's clear he will be the Republican nominee running against Hillary Clinton. 

RNC and Donald J. Trump Campaign Announce Joint Fundraising Agreements

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus announced late Tuesday the RNC and Donald J. Trump for President campaign have entered into joint fundraising agreements. Agreements will allow Trump's campaign to raise funds the national party will use to elect Republicans at all levels this cycle, according to a written statement from Priebus.

Corrine Brown: Redistricting Challenge Wasn't Frivolous

Attorneys for Democratic Congresswoman Corrine Brown are pushing back against demands that she and her supporters foot the legal bill for groups that defended a new redistricting plan in a federal court battle.
 
In filings last week in U.S. District Court in Tallahassee, Brown's lawyers said her claims against the new map of her district were not "frivolous," as the organizations that defended the map have argued. A three-judge federal panel rejected Brown's claims.
