Let the mudslinging begin. The gauntlet has been thrown by candidates for Florida’s ultra-competitive 13th Congressional District and both are leaving no holds barred as they battle it out to head to Congress.

Slightly more than a decade after the Florida Supreme Court rejected a controversial school-vouchers program, voucher opponents hope for a repeat.

Groups led by the Florida Education Association teachers union filed an initial brief Monday asking the Supreme Court to take up a challenge to the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, which pays for tens of thousands of children to attend private schools.

Pointing to a terrorist attack in New York and New Jersey earlier this month, a Florida congressman said it underscored the need to pass his bill ensuring the federal government  screens the social media of everyone who applies for a visa to visit the United States.
