Florida Delegation Weighs in on Whether Jeff Sessions Should Recuse Himself on Russia Investigation

With U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions admitting that he spoke with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. last year but did not disclose that when asked by the Senate during his confirmation hearings, members of the Florida congressional delegation from both sides of the aisle are saying he should recuse himself from investigations of Russia’s role in the 2016 presidential election even as an old Republican rival of President Donald Trump is not ready to call on Sessions to step aside quite yet. 

Meanwhile, the Hillary Clinton Email Case Is Still Alive and Well in Federal Court

Judicial Watch announced Thursday a hearing has been set for Tuesday, March 7 on Judicial Watch’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails sent or received during her tenure from February 2009 to January 31, 2013. The FOIA request also includes all emails by other State Department employees to Clinton regarding her non-‘state.gov’ email address (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00687)).  The case is before Judge James E. Boasberg.

Gillum, who declared his candidacy Wednesday, found himself in hot water after it was discovered he used city email to conduct campaign business. By Wednesday afternoon, the RGA hit back at Gillum, filing a public records request to find out just how many times Gillum had improperly communicated using a campaign email address on taxpayers’ dime.
